Originally from Cape Town South Africa, Charl Jordaan came to the United States with his soon to be wife and started his career through a work sponsor he received from a well established yacht charter broker company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as IT and Web Developer working to effectively increase rankings and generate increased sales from the internet.

Charl quickly established himself as an expert in Search Engine Optimization obtaining exceptional results for first page listings in the top 10 on all related keyword searches in the yacht charter industry on all major search engines. As a knowledgeable leader in his field, Charl took the company to literally control the internet market with multiple websites covering all aspects of the yacht charter market on all keywords on a global scale in multiple languages. He was offered full partnership and the company tripled in revenue every year for 5 years.

During this time Charl recognized accurate information for yacht availability was scarce and the industry relied on books that were out of date and obsolete the minute they were printed. Finding up-to-date information was next to impossible.

A decision was made to spin off and create a second marketing company to support a new idea of online availability for yachts in the charter market. Visiting multiple global boat shows and taking thousands of images of yachts Charl set off to create a new online database called CentralYachtAgent.com. Through creative strategies he managed to convince the industry to submit data directly from each individual central agent website to this new system so that one system would exist for all charter brokers to use as a new standard for accurate availability. The system grew and became the new industry standard primarily for the Caribbean market.

With great success came great disappointment. His wife died in late 2003, after a 3 year battle with Cancer. The partnership became less attractive and he realized expanded thinking and decision making was limited within the scope of the partnership.

After dissolving the partnership, Charl took a 2 year hiatus from the industry to find new answers, expanding his awareness and knowledge through Eastern Philosophy in India and studying new MBA marketing techniques abroad.

In 2005 Yachting Image was created to help yacht charter broker companies achieve greater success through state-of-the-art technologies and applied techniques. His knowledge of the entire industry established him to be a consultant to help plan from start to finish a commanding online presence for new and well established yacht charter brokers with little to no input on their part. Charl has pulled together a dedicated team of professionals and experts in their own field. He is a firm believer in having the “right” team hat turns into the ‘right stuff’.
